“In the expression of my art, there must be absolute freedom.”

Artist Statement

My art is the direct result of who I am. As it derives from my journey on earth, it means, therefore, that it is a record of my time here – be that outward, chronological time, or inward, psychological time.

The desire to interpret and share what I feel, as an individual, drives me to create with visual imagery and the written word. The human condition – the celebration of life and continued questioning of our journey as a nomadic race in the quest for love and belonging – interests me greatly.

Each piece of work I create becomes a signature best able to transmit that deeper language that I desire to express. I spend my life trying to hone this language into a true semblance of my inner world. In this way, my work becomes both language and voice – with language as the substance propelling the vehicle, which is the voice.

In the expression of my art, there must be absolute freedom. This does not infer opposition to some other thing. It is not fragmentary, partial or corrupt. It seeks nothing, holds on to nothing, and is answerable to nothing. It is not a thing to be possessed, because it is whole, and the whole may never actually be grasped.
